Physical and occupational therapy

Frio Rehabilitation Center offers some of the best physical therapists (PTs) and occupational therapists (OTs) in Pearsall and Frio County.

Our therapists work together with your doctor to make sure your care is seamlessly coordinated and that you get back to your best self as quickly as possible.

Depending on your needs, you may receive care from a PT an OT or both.

Physical therapy

Physical therapy is designed to help you move better, relieve your pain and help improve or restore your physical function.

Physical therapy can help with various medical complexities and can help with recovery following surgery. The goal is to make daily tasks and activities easier through improved physical mobility.

Occupational therapy

Occupational therapy is aimed at enhancing your ability to care for yourself at home and potentially return to work.

Our OTs will help adapt different environments and promote skill development and independence in daily activities, such as feeding, bathing, dressing, cooking, playing, and working.

Our therapists’ areas of expertise

From pediatric to adult to seniors, our skilled OTs and PTs provide compassionate care and effective treatments for people of all ages with a wide range of health conditions.

Among our areas of expertise:

Amputation and limb deficiencies. Our team can work with the prosthetic company of the patient’s choice to provide specialized rehabilitative services to support regaining use of lower and upper extremities for return to functioning in daily life.

Balance and vestibular disorders. Dizziness and other balance problems can dramatically impair your quality of life. Our therapists will help assess the problem and provide solutions to help you become steady again.

Injury rehabilitation. Fractures and other injuries to the hand, hip, knee, foot or ankle are all problems that our highly-trained PTs and OTs can help address. We also have experts in sports physical therapy for injuries that happen on the field of play.

Mobility assessments. These assessments can help your healthcare team understand how well you walk and move, determine your risk of falls and perform the treatments you need to function as fully as possible.

Spine care and conditioning. Low back pain and neck pain can be debilitating problems. Our PTs and OTs can help you address them and get you back to the highest level of function possible.

Surgical rehabilitation. Our therapists will work with you and your surgeon before and after surgery to help improve your outcomes and speed your return to normal activities. Hip and knee replacement recovery are among our specialties.

Pain management. Arthritis and other joint or musculoskeletal problems are common causes of pain. Physical and occupational therapy can help control pain and get you back to your normal daily activities.
