Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, weekends and holidays as needed
Description:
Provides supervision over assigned staff in a designated clinic setting to administer nursing care effectively and efficiently according to physician’s orders. Adheres to Standard Precautions, Policies and Procedures of all Ready Care Rural Clinics. Is responsible for optimal direct and indirect nursing care of the patients assigned to them. Must have the ability to comprehend and follow routine written or verbal instruction or directions. Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
- Must be able to travel to all Ready Care clinic locations at any time
- Oversee all Medical Assistants at all Ready Care clinic locations
- Obtains, verifies, and records health history of patients. Gathers pertinent health data through physical assessments and biological samples. Collects specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Provides basic patient care as ordered. Administers medications and treatments as directed.
- Assists other health care professionals in performing exams, diagnostic procedures and treatments, and minor medical procedures.
- Documents assessments, interventions, patient/family responses, and test results in medical records.
- Provides education/training materials to all staff.
- Provides leadership, direction, and support to medical assistants on the issues of outpatient care, medications, or scheduling.
- If certified, may start IVs and assist with other patient procedures as requested by providers.
- Works independently, maintains schedule of patients.
- Responsible for reporting faulty equipment to the appropriate supervisor.
- Attends in-service training at the request of their director, including hospital orientation and Annual Skills Fair.
- Will be preceptor to new hires as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:
- Current Texas License Vocational Nurse licensure
- One year of nursing experience in Med/Surg preferred
- BLS required within 30 days of hire. IV Certification course within 90 days of hire.
- Must pass Background and Drug screening
- Must have a valid driver’s license
